Ankle Sprain

Ankle Sprain Treatment for Residents of Bull Run, Centreville, Manassas, Chantilly & Beyond

When residents of Bull Run or any surrounding area suffer an ankle sprain and need treatment from a compassionate and experienced podiatrist, they turn to Dr. Mukesh Bhakta, D.P.M. at Prince William Foot & Ankle Center, PC and South Riding Foot & Ankle Center. Unlike many other local podiatry practices, Prince William Foot & Ankle Center, PC has on-site digital X-ray and diagnostic ultrasound machines. This eliminates the need for patients to visit the emergency room or a diagnostic imaging center, and allows Dr. Bhakta to provide efficient, convenient podiatric care.
Depending on a number of factors, including the severity of a patient’s ankle sprain, Dr. Bhakta may recommend one or more of the following treatments:
  • Elevating the ankle and applying ice to reduce swelling
  • Applying a compressive bandage to immobilize and support the ankle
  • Using crutches to allow the ankle to rest
  • Taking anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen or naproxen
In some cases, a patient’s ankle sprain may require surgery to repair the damaged ligaments. Fortunately, Dr. Bhakta performs ankle and foot surgery , so these patients will have a familiar face in the operating room.
